Noob is an PEJORATIVE definition of inexperienced person. Calling someone a noob is rude and unexpected from tolerant, polite person. Of course you can call someone a noob in jokes, that's ok, as all jokes (maybe not all ). Noob isn't an equivalent of newbie ! I just can't stand when I see "super extra unbelievable immortal fragger" laughing about the new ones. "Haha, die u noob" "noob, why don't u've done sth?" Also situation, when newb kill "sth sth fragger" and the comment? "noob". That ain't fair, that's an insult and that is forbidden even according to our rules. That's all about fun, isn't it? 50 people sitting in front of PC and killing each other (sometimes themselves ;P).
For me personally, noobs are the guys who call others noobs. And i am very susceptible to this matter, I just hate that word

the thing is,to mute a player coz he said "noob" aint a solution.u ve to bring him and teach him also that noob and newbie aint the same words.but dunno how u gonna teach him from in front of monitor.for ex. if that one near me,i can teach him very nicely and slowly wit my radical fists. jkin.

lol ;p it's hard to talk with some people. Most of people using word noob, don't need to get muted. Just once tell them don't insult, and ok. I fell sorry when I have to mute and happy to unmute. I think muting could be a sort of example for others to not use noob and else this words. But for example yesterday we had sneaky on server, for who insulting was the way of living and there is no possibility to explain anything to him. He's just a rude idiot. Radical fists are ok, but thats the prob. U need to have physical contact and that is just impossible ;p
